Wow Two Posts in One Day!

It was another beautiful day and since Rhys has no school all week we went to the beach. Hooray! I think this is going to be the first of many trips to the beach this summer. Today we drove to Crab Meadow on the North Shore. There's lots of rocks, which Rhys definately enjoyed, he likes to throw them into the water. There's also a really nice playground set up that even Sylvie can enjoy.

Let the Adventures Begin!!

So I went to the beach yesterday and made a decision, from now and through the summer I'm going to try and go to as many state parks and beaches as I can. There are quite a few of them on the island and some even that are not on the island that I'll have to take a ferry to. Some are as close as 20 or 30 minutes away and some could take a couple hours to drive to. But it's absolutely gorgeous out here and since I haven't really got anything to do with myself on the weekends I'm going to go on some adventures. So yesterday, since I had the day off was my first adventure. I drove about 30 minutes to the South Shore of the Island to Heckscher State Park. It was a positively beautiful day, the sun was shining, the wind wasn't blowing and it was nice and warm so I spent the afternoon wandering along the shore. I need to remember to bring my rainboots next time so I can actually walk in the water rather than trying to keep my shoes dry and hopping along on the rocks. So here are a few of my favorite pictures from yesterday. Enjoy!

A really funny piece of driftwood, it reminded me of a donkey.

A piece of sea glass I found, took a picture of and pocketed to take home

there were a lot of bushes and brambles along the shore, of course everything is still brown, grey and dead I can't wait to see it again when its all green.

Nothing much interesting

its been a couple weeks since I've posted anything on my blog, but I haven't got anything interesting to post. Life is work, work is life, the kids are great. Sylvie is an absolute hoot wandering around the house on her newfound legs and babbling like a crazy baby, she's quite entertaing to listen to even though you can't understand a word she says except for "no" and "mama" Rhys is kind of sort of finally figuring out the whole potty training thing (thank you Jesus) but is still a bit of an annoyance. Don't get me wrong I love this kid but his two favorite phrases have become "Why?" and when he doesn't like something you are saying or doing "I'm very mad at you" which he says quite sternly with a scowl on his face. Any kid who consistenly repeates these phrases throughout the couse of a day can certainly be deemed a bit of an annoyance, wouldn't you agree?

Good news though, I do indeed get to go with the family to Germany for a week at the end of March so I'm definatly looking forward to that. I'm not really sure where we'll be staying or what we'll be doing but does it really matter? I'll be in Germany :D

and finally a couple pictures. I looked out my window on Sunday night to see an incredibly bright full moon up in the sky and decided to play around with my camera and see what would happen, and here are a couple of results. I was most definatly pleased although I think if I were to play around with the settings on my camera a bit more I'd get even better results.
